Look, it’s a motel. It’s cheap/affordable.I don’t understand what people expect when they book here and are disappointed? It’s not the Versace HOTEL , it’s a MOTEL. Motels are usually as their reputations are: cheap and tacky which minimal amenities but have a bed, shower, fridge and aircon- usually all you need. This is a contact-less motel. You are sent a a text with the code 5-10 minutes before check in that you type into the lock on the door to gain access. Very clever for an OLD motel. It has a comfy bed and a shower—- even though it’s the original bathroom from the 60s/70s era phase and the toilet pipes are starting to rust.It was clean, the beds all had lovely fresh sheets and blankets on them and the floors were vacuumed well.(We saw the cleaners the morning we left and they do a good job!).It has a tv, air con and a wifi. There is a full sized fridge, 2 electric stove plates and cooking utensils, plates and cutlery, butter and sauces are all supplied. My friend and I (both female) stayedthere and had slight concern at first how easily the window could be broken and the fact that the door only has a chain lock on the inside, with the electric keypad outside, but it was fine;A few tricks my father taught me growing up and we were set for the night. The people in the rooms around us were all men who clearly worked shift work and worked hard.It was a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.Just be prepared to hear the trains passing all night. ☺️Would stay here again. It’s clean and tidy and has what you need for a good nights sleep.-unless your friend ends up being the loudest person in the motel because she’s on the phone until 10:30 and seems to be yelling.. so you end up making her get off the phone and go to sleep so the other guests can rest!read more

It’s a budget motel, so keep that in mind. But…it has everything you need for an overnight stay to rest up on a long road trip. The best thing about it is that you aren’t dependent on office opening hours. I made an online booking at 9pm at night, whilst an hour south of the location. By the time I’d arrived, I had been texted my room door code and was able to self-check-in without assistance into my room. So you don’t have to be bound to arriving within “office hours”. And then you just need to vacate your room by the checkout time at 10am. All without having to interact with anyone. The room had a fridge, induction hob, microwave, and cutlery and crockery sufficient for 2 people. The bed was good quality. However, whilst refurbished in recent times, it is still an older building and has some of the limitations of that (ie older shower fixtures, etc.But for price, and convenience of not being dependent on any staff to check in, it made for a convenient stop a short distance from the highway.read more

Lovely clean room. Beds comfortable. This is my go to Motel for an overnight stay between southern NSW and Sunshine Coast. On the main road heading south makes for a more direct travel route. Always great service. Love how now it’s coded entry that is texted and emailed, instead of key collection. Accommodates better for late arrival and early departure.read more

What an awesome setup!!! We booked at 9:00pm (when every hotel with a reception was closed) at a great rate. The code wasn’t emailed so I called and spoke to a lovely woman who sorted me out in about 30 seconds. Rooms have everything you could possibly need, way more than most motels offer: desk, great aircon, kettle, microwave, full size fridge, milk, etc. This is just such a clever operation and easy to access. Would recommend. Note: you can hear highway noise but it’s not a problem in my opinion – it’s a quiet town at night!read more

Heading up to Brisbane, via the mountains, and booked in to the Hi-way Motel in Grafton. On first impressions not much to look at but everything that you need in a motel it has. What impressed me was the “contactless” service. On the day of booking in I was sent a text, with a room number and a pass code. When I arrived I opened the door, stayed the night and left in the morning without seeing anyone. If you want streamline check-n then this is for you.read more
